Fake Evernote extension for Google Chrome

I just read a very interesting article about a fake Evernote extension installer for Google Chrome.  We here so many criticisms of Microsoft Internet Explorer and it's interesting to note that other browsers and they gather market share are also becoming bigger targets.

The author does a really good job of explaining the hows and whys of this type of malware.  I thought you might find it interesting.  It was written on August 19th 2014  by .

I call this category of malware "Nuisanceware".  It's not a damaging are other malware but certainly is a pain in the a--!  This is the garbage that keeps IT support teams busy and pays the bills even if it isn't really very technically challenging to deal with after the fact.  The goal of any good malware specialist is to keep this stuff off the desktop in the first place and that's where the real battles are still being fought.  Fighting the malware writers is a game of cat and mouse with some VERY smart mice!  OR if you prefer  . . . a giant game of whack-a-mole.
